Applying for a Performance Excellence Northwest Award is an effective way to look at your organization from a systems perspective, energize employees, and increase the focus on business results using the comprehensive feedback report that details your organization’s strengths and opportunities for improvement. Many successful organizations use this low-cost consultation as a key strategic planning input.

The PENW Award program is open to business, healthcare, public/government agencies, nonprofit and education organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Whether you’re large or small, established or start-up, the program is scalable to fit your organization’s unique profile.

RECOGNITION PROGRAM
To reflect the diverse and expansive environment of the vast Northwest, PENW recognizes organizations at the following levels:
LITE APPLICATIONS (Organizational Profile + 25 page application) Trailhead Level: completing the Organizational Profile.
Base Camp Level: completing the 20-pages application
FULL APPLICATIONS (Organizational Profile + 50 page application)
Mt. Hood Emerging Level: beginning to adopt and apply the performance excellence principles.
Mt. Idaho Achievement Level: demonstrating implementation towards continuous improvement and excellence principles.
Mt. Rainier Leadership Level: achieving significant progress including organizational learning and implementation of proven best practices.
Mt. Denali Excellence Level: demonstrating achievement of the highest level of excellence.

Recognition aligned to your demonstrated level of performance
PENW offers a variety of levels to recognize organizations along their performance excellence journey. Some organizations demonstrate results quickly, while other may take additional time. Regardless of how fast you progress, PENW has two application types and six levels of recognition to reinforce your commitment to organizational learning and maturity level.
Lite Application (5 pg Org Profile + 25 pg summarizing your key processes & aligned results)
Many organizations new to Performance Excellence use this to assess their organization against the most important aspects of organizational performance excellence and answer key questions about your core values and concepts.

Full Application (5 pg Org Profile + 50 page application detailing your key processes & aligned results)
Use this comprehensive application to dig deeper into the details that will empower your organization to accomplish its mission, improve results and become more competitive.

Both Lite and Full Assessment programs help organizations by providing feedback that assists in identifying opportunities for improvement and defining future performance goals. Once you submit a Lite or Full Application, you will receive feedback that helps you improve employee engagement, customer loyalty, financial sustainability, and your ability to deliver on the mission—whether that is delivering world-class healthcare, improving the welfare of citizens, delivering better outcomes for students or serving customers better.

Once you are ready to start an application, the program begins with downloading an Intent to Apply and (optional) meet with the Executive Director to overview the process and get you started.

Organizations who are interested in a Lite Application may wish to consider the Pathways to Excellence Program. This program was developed using PENW customer feedback and national regional program best practices. It is specifically designed for organizations early in their performance excellence journey to develop the Organizational Profile and provide guidance and support for submitting a Lite Application.
